Donald Lynn Nixon

Donald Lynn Nixon, affectionately known as "Duck" to many and "Nick" to others, peacefully entered into eternal rest on April 22, 2026. A lifelong cornerstone of the Beaumont community, Donald's journey began on July 21, 1949, as the youngest child of Rodney Nixon Sr. and Augustine LeBlanc Nixon.
A proud 1967 graduate of Charlton Pollard High School, Donald soon began a beautiful chapter that would span nearly six decades. On August 30, 1967, he wed Mary Alice Keil, embarking on a 59-year journey of shared faith, laughter, and a growing family.
For 26 years, Donald lent his skill and dedication to ExxonMobil, but his true work was found in the joy he gave to others. Whether he was dominating the tennis court or pool table, pitching for the Hawks softball team, or commanding the dance floor as the legendary "Swingout King," Donald lived with a rhythm all his own.
His heart for service led him to volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and Nutrition and Services for Seniors', Meals on Wheels for many years. His adventurous spirit took him to many countries of the globe, as he and wife traveled for a time after retiring.
His love and care for his dogs (Gumbo, Roux & Claudette) was evident in his dedication to daily trips to the river and nearby ponds.
Above all, Donald was a man of faith who walked with the Lord until the very end.
Family & Legacy
The youngest of ten, Donald's beloved siblings: Rodney Sr., Abraham, Betty Jean, Janie Mae Redmon, Vergie Mary, Felix, Isaiah, Stella Louise, and Thelma English. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who were like family to him.
"His love lives on in all of us."
Donald's love and memories will remain forever in the heart of his lifelong wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Alice Nixon. Through all the thick and thin, loving and caring for each other. His legacy continues through his children: son, Donald Nixon, Jr. (LeShea) and daughter, Donna Nixon; his cherished grandchildren, Khalil R. Nixon, Kole Nixon, Kennedy Nixon, and Eliana Nixon; and his great-grandson, Amir.
