Mr. Emery "Michael" Guidry, Jr., 72 , of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

The Celebration Memorial Service for Mr. Guidry will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel, located at 1395 Gladys Street in Beaumont, Texas, with the practice of social distancing and Facial Masks are required. Under the direction of Mercy Funeral Home.

Emery Guidry Jr., or Michael as he was known by his family and friends was born in Crowley Louisiana to Emery Guidry Sr. and Ruby White on January 2, 1950. Michael worked for many years for Tidewater Marine of Morgan City Louisiana. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen Bankhead Guidry; siblings, Dale Guidry, Bessie Warner, Fay King, and Lavonne Edwards. Two children Tiffany Harmon and Alaine (Nicole) Sonnier. Michael and Karen together raised three of their seven grandchildren, Todrrick Poullard (Roshanda) of Port Arthur Texas, Bethany Sonnier of Beaumont Texas and Chakaven Fowler (Ahmorae) of Beaumont Texas. Four grandchildren who will cherish his memory are Nicholas Poullard, Cecil, Elijah and Anika Harmon.  He will be greatly missed by his great grandchildren; DJ, Malik, Taylor, Acen, Mavrik, and Acelynn in addition to his niece, Rashida Bankhead; cousins, Chiquita Guidry and Mary Wilson as well as many other relatives and friends.
