Emma attended Doolittle Elementary and Wendell Phillips Academy High School – along with music great Sam Cook – where she graduated in 1953. It was here that she developed her love for sewing.
In 1960, she met and married the love of her life, Roy LeBlanc, Jr. They lived abroad in Germany during his time in the Army and relocated to Beaumont, Texas after his retirement in 1972.
Emma was an excellent seamstress and took great pride and joy in everything from alterations to sewing intricate prom dresses for her daughter and nieces. When she wasn't sewing, she could be found volunteering as classroom mom, school mom and band mom. She volunteered for many years at Pietzsch-MacArthur Elementary with the Foster Grandparent Program.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband of forty-three years, Roy LeBlanc, Jr.; sister, Neta Ruth Hunter; daughter, Sandra Bridgemon; and son, Kelvin LeBlanc.
