Mr. Hurley White, 93, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024 in Beaumont, Texas.

The Celebration Service for Mr. White will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church (1165 IH-10 East - Beaumont, Texas 77701) with burial Service to follow at Anthony Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas. under the directions of Mercy Funeral Home. A Public Viewing will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 12:00 Noon until 5:00 p.m. at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel and visitation on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church. The practice of Social Distancing and Facial Mask are recommended.

Hurley's Journey

Mr. Hurley White, Sr., 93, a long-time resident of Beaumont, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, in Beaumont, Texas. Hurley was born on August 30, 1930, to Annie Mae Mills of Colmesneil, TX. He was a Corporal in the United States Army and received a purple heart in the Korean War. Romans 8:38-39 says, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, [a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Hurley was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sallie Mae White; sons, Paul White and Stephen White; brothers, Norman White, Chester Jones, and Virgil Jones; and sister, Ruby Lee Glenn. Hurley's memories will forever remain in the hearts of his loving children, Sally Bordelon, Hurley White, Jr., Marie H. White Grant and husband Tracy, Deborah Dominick and husband Brandon, Bruce White, Sr. and wife Kayla, Brenda White-Simien and husband Kendall, Belinda White, Melinda White and Lorinda White of Beaumont, Texas; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
