Born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, Jeraldine attended Beaumont public schools, graduating from Hebert High School in 1963. While a student at Hebert High School, she worked as a nurse's aide at Hotel Dieu hospital in Beaumont, which was the beginning of a lifelong passion for caring for people. Throughout her life, she was very active in the church and was one of the founders of Praises of Zion Baptist Church in Clearlake, California.
Jeraldine married Squire Booker, Sr., whom she met at Prairie View A&M University, and then Eddie E. Banks from the Bay Area of California, who preceded her in death. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, and by five brothers, (Archie, Othello, Charles, Albert, and baby Leroy) and two sisters, (Doris and Anita). She is survived by her son, Squire J. Booker, her brother, Richard and her sisters, Gloria, Betty, and Claudia in addition to a host of nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
