OBITUARY

JOHNNY RAY FAULK, first child of the late Doris Faulk Swain and Lester Smith, raised by Willie Joseph James, Sr., was born on May 19, 1954 in Beaumont, Texas, where he attended public schools and graduated from South Park High School in 1972.

JOHNNY is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Irena May Faulk.

ON June 22, 2013, he and Courtney Davis were united in holy matrimony for ten years, as he also nurtured their two children until he departed his earthly life after a lengthy illness on August 6, 2023.

JOHNNY retired from the City of Beaumont Water Department after nineteen years of dedicated service. Unsatisfied with sitting back, he became more active with church duties.  A member of House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church since 2007, Johnny worshiped and served faithfully until his health declined. His ministries included the deacon board, male chorus, brotherhood, and food pantry. He happily supported his church however he could.

TO cherish a lifetime of memories he leaves his wife, Courtney Faulk; his children, Derrick Sutton (Denetra), Dexter Davis, Jr., and JaBria Davis; grandchildren, Derrick Sutton, Jr., and DeTavion Sutton all of Beaumont, Texas; three sisters, Linda Donald (Albert), Mary "Cat" Faulk    (Phil), Carol Hamilton of Houston, Texas; one brother, Willie James of Washington; one aunt, Annie Faye Smith; nephews, Terry, Stanley, Ivory, Luis, and Frank; nieces; Miesha, Racquel, Michelle, and Nevovia; four great-nieces, four great-nephews; and four Godchildren, followed by a host of cousins, friends, and in-laws.
