Obituary

Mr. Larry Hayes, 70, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in Beaumont, Texas.

Remembering Larry

We bid adieu to the one-of-a-kind Larry Hayes, born on February 19, 1954, to parents Jimmie Lee Brown and Bert Hayes. Larry, at the spry age of 70, decided to embark on his next great
adventure on June 18, 2024.

Larry was the man who could teach you anything and fix everything. A six-year stint in the U.S.
Army showed that even Uncle Sam couldn't resist his charms, and the U.S. Post Office enjoyed
his service until he stamped his final "Return to Sender."

Educationally, Larry was a proud alumnus of Hampton High School, graduating in the class of
1970. He furthered his knowledge at Lamar University, where he studied Engineering, a field
that matched his problem-solving prowess.

His loving wife of 51 years, Kathryn Hayes, and his proud progeny, Kedra Miller (Rodney),
Keava Turner (Cory), Kayla Hayes (Melissa), and Loyde Hayes, are left to share the countless
stories of his shenanigans. His legacy includes not only his own children but also a troupe of 11
grandchildren and a duo of great-grandchildren, all of whom inherited his twinkling eyes and
mischievous grin. Also to cherish his memories are his maternal brothers-Michael Brown,
Meredith Craig Benard (Anquinette), Howard Long (Yolanda), and his paternal siblings, Clara M.
Hayes, Willie Douglas, Shirley Scott (Louis), Emma Hayes, Faye Broussard and Solomon
Hayes(Gwen); sister-in-law, Maxine Hayes, along with a host of family and friends.

Larry's parents, Jimmie Lee Long, and Bert Hayes Sr, and his dearly departed kiddos, Monica
Tashika and Larry Keith, Sr., his brothers; James Brydson, Bob Hayes and Bert Hayes, Jr, sisters, Abbie Aikles and Esther Hayes have surely set up the welcome committee for his grand entrance on the other side.

In true Larry fashion, he's requested no mopey services. Instead, he'd probably suggest
"business as usual" in his honor.

Raise your glass, share a laugh, and remember a man who was truly larger than life and twice
as entertaining. Cheers to you, Larry – the man, the myth, the walking Wikipedia with the
everlasting punchline!

Grandkids: Kia, Keith Jr, Layton, Ryan, Ryley, Karley, Nathan, Tyler, Kathryn, Jaden, London
Great Grandbabies: Keith and Koi.
