Mrs. Rosa Nell Garrett Sylvester, 81, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 in Beaumont, Texas.

Celebration Service for Mrs. Sylvester will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at The Gospel of Jesus Christ Church located at 2575 Wilson Street in Beaumont, Texas 77703. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 p.m. at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel and on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church  Burial service will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas, under the direction of Mercy Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas. The practicing of social distancing and facial masks recommended.

Left to celebrate her life and beautiful memories are her sons, Darrell Garrett (Pam) and Memphis L Jones, Sr. (Mary); ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, special family friend, Clarence Aubrey; a multitude of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mother Rosa was preceded in death by her mother, Evalina Williams Garrett; father, David Garrett, Sr.; husband, Deacon John Sylvester; her son, Joe Lee Jones, all her siblings, her sisters, Dot, Chic, Evelyn, Betty and Anna Ruth; her brothers, Junior Boy, John and James. Mother had a heart of gold, evangelizing to many throughout the years. Mother would not hesitate to feed you, spiritually as well as physically. She didn't meet a stranger and will be missed by all that she touched in her lifetime.
