The Life Story

Roy G Arline, Sr., 78, was born on March 1, 1945, to the late Esker and Essie Arline. He departed this life on Monday, February 4, 2024, at his home with family.

Roy attended and graduated from Charlton Pollard High School in 1963, where he met his high school sweetheart Carolyn Ballard Arline.  They were wed July 25, 1964, and have celebrated fifty-nine years of marriage. From this union, five children were born, Roy G. Arline, II, Dekova C. Lewis (Reverend Stacey Lewis, Sr.), Reverend Reggie H. Arline (Tisho Arline), Demeko Danielle Lawrence (Michael Lawrence), and Rashad E. Arline.

Roy began his career at the age of 19 at the City of Beaumont. Throughout his tenure, he received numerous awards and accolades. His proudest moment is receiving the Doris Johnson Award where he exhibited a model employee of the City of Beaumont. After forty years of service, Roy retired and enjoyed his days spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren.

Roy was a devoted member of the St Pius X Church for all of his adult life. Roy's commitment to service included being an usher during mass each Sunday morning. Roy was also called to give a donation to St Jude's Research Hospital each month for many years. Roy's smiling and quiet nature was a blessing to all those who knew and adored him.

Roy leaves to cherish his memories, his beautiful wife of fifty-nine years, Carolyn Arline; one sister, Mrs. Shirley Pryor (Robert Pryor, Jr.), thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; his best friend for over thirty years, Mr. Kirby Gasaway (Debbie Gasaway); he also leaves to mourn, two sisters-in law, Janice Simon (Reverend Samuel Simon) and Minister Eugenia Chargois (Reverend Albert Chargois); and lastly a host of relatives, extended family and friends.
