Pastor Stephanie Mitchell
A Life Well Lived
STEPHANIE LOUISE LANDRY MITCHELL was born in Beaumont, Texas, in a house by a
midwife on May 12, 1961, to Leroy Landry, Jr., and Katherine Barlow Landry Roberson.
SHE attended French High School with the class of 1979. Stephanie accepted Jesus Christ as her
Lord and Savior at a early age, under the leadership of the late Bishop B. R. Brown at New Temple
Christ Holy Sanctified C.O.G.I.C. in Beaumont, Texas, where she sang in the youth choir. Her family
later moved their membership to Faith Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of the late Bishop
Horace Hall, Sr., where she sang in the choir and was one of the choir directors. God called Stephanie
more in-depth to the ministry, where she was ordained as an evangelist. She would travel and spread
the word and fulfill the work God had set for her. Stephanie would go and feed the
homeless, including stray dogs; this was one of her many passions.
IN 1994, Stephanie was united in marriage with her best friend, Lloyd
Mitchell, and, to their union, one child was born, with two bonus
daughters prior to the marriage. In 2004, God called Stephanie into
leadership of becoming a Pastor with a vision of a church. Stephanie
accepted and, in 2005, Shekinah Glory Church went from a vision
to reality. God told her that Shekinah Glory means, "The Power of
God." Many people came from near and far, and were saved through
her ministry. She will be missed by our community, her adopted
kids, her friends, and her family.
STEPHANIE was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy
Landry, Jr., and Katherine Roberson; her granddaughter,
Tykeionna White; nephew, Jarvis Samuel; and niece, Denise
Landry.
STEPHANIE is survived by her spouse, Lloyd
Mitchell; her three daughters, Tiffany Yates, Brandy Lapoint
and Amireil Mitchell; six grandchildren, Tyrece Harris,
Tykierra Clay, Tykeionna White, Tyrianna Gallo,
Madison Monroe, and Jamerson Lapoint; one sister,
Pastor Kathy Veal; and four brothers, Bishop Wayne
Landry, Sr. (Senia), Minister Leroy Landry III, Michael
Landry, and Minister Calvin Landry (Melanie); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
