The life reflections of
M I N I S T E R
Timothy Deon
Billups, Sr.
Timothy Deon Billups was born February 12, 1974, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Ollie
Pearl and Massa James Billups. He departed this life on Thursday September 7, 2023,
at 7:15 P.M. Timothy attended and graduated from A Maceo Smith in 1992. There
he played basketball and football. Outside of school sportsmanship he enjoyed
playing his video games and being a die hard Dallas Cowboys Fan. After graduation
Timothy went on to explore life's valuable lesson and it's challenges during this time
of exploring he married and on October 2, 2006, his greatest accomplishment was
born and was namesake Timothy Deon Billups, Jr. who is now a thriving junior and
an accomplished, talented athlete in high school at Lake Highlands High School in
Dallas, Texas.
At a young age Timothy accepted Christ and since then he was eager to study
the Bible. Through his ups and downs Timothy pushed through learning the Bible until
he decided to relocate to Beaumont Texas where he attended many churches and
accept his calling. Timothy was ordained to preach the Gospel in October of 2019.
Under the leadership of Pastor R.L.Johnson senior Pastor of Tru Vine Baptist church.
His first sermon title was "HELP IS ON THE WAY!" I say he must have been preaching
to the Congregation and himself because this health was slowly declining. While
ministering Timothy volunteered at St. James United Methodist Church every summer
as a assistant vacation bible school teacher. He also gave motivational talks at Mark
Stiles Prison. While under the leadership of Pastor R.L Johnson he participated in the
church revival skit of Paul and Silas. Timothy helped with the non profit organization
Blessings After Blessings where he helped feed the homeless every third Saturday of
each month. He also help deliver gifts to the nursing on each holiday. When Timothy
wasn't working for the Lord he would work at the election barn every elections
including runoffs. There he open and process hundreds even thousands of ballots
each election.
During Timothy's stay in Beaumont his health
slowly declined but through his health changes
he still managed to try to keep a smile on his face
and make jokes. His favored joke was that the
aids were coming to clean his ROYAL body. He
joked until the day the Lord spoke to him at Baptist
hospital and told him to come rest.
Timothy was preceded in death by his mother,
Ollie pearl; his father, Massa James Billups, Sr.; his
brother, James; and his adopted Pops, Mingo.
He leaves his legacy in the hands of his only son,
Timothy, Jr. Timothy's memories will be cherished
by his son, his brother, Robert; his niece, Tiara; his
aunt, Linda; his two God-mothers, Barbara Brush
Mingo and Deborah Kelley; his friend, Roxie; and
two special ladies, in his life his BFF, Rashida Fermon
and Jada Rogers. Along with many nephews
nieces and host of other family members and friends
