Ty'Esha's Life Journey
'Pride & Joy'
Ty'Esha Sharrae Holmes was born on April 4, 1991, and was the oldest of four siblings.
Her mother, the late Grace La'Shan Holmes, called Ty'Esha her 'Pride & Joy.' Ty'Esha and
her siblings were reared in Beaumont, Texas, then later moved them to Houston, Texas.
Ty'Esha graduated from Cypress Springs High School in Cypress, Texas, in May 2009.
While in high school, she played basketball, was in band and the debate club. She studied
courses at Lamar University, and her dream was to become a nurse or a lawyer.
While being raised in Beaumont, Texas, she attended Fruit of the Vine Church of God
in Christ alone with her siblings, mother, and grandparents. Ty'Esha participated in
programs at Fruit of the Vine Church of God in Christ and performed her spoken words on
their Black History programs. She also worked various jobs, which included being employed
at Enterprise and FedEx.
Ty'Esha had a heart of gold, she was always there to help her siblings, and was a fantastic
aunt to her nephew, Justin. She was extremely intelligent, and had an amazing and giving
heart, in which she was the one the family always turned to. When Ty'Esha's mother,
Grace, took sick, she was there for her mother every step of the way, along with her two
younger sisters, Earon and Diamond. Even when her grandmother, Annie Moye (Momo),
took sick, she also became her grandmother's caretaker, in which she put her grandmother's
health before her own. Ty'Esha was just one phone call away, she loved her family, and put
her family first before herself. She will greatly be missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Grace La'Shan Holmes; brother, Denzeil Hakeem
Holmes; grandmother, Annie Mae Holmes Moye; and great grandmother, Cecile Moody
Melbert.
TyEsha's memories will remain in the hearts of her sisters, Earon Juanta Holmes
(Houston, Texas.) and Diamond Bria'Na Holmes (Beaumont, Texas.); nephew, Justin
RaShad Holmes (Houston, Texas); grandfather, John Wayne Moye (Beaumont, Texas.);
and Godparents, Jo Ana Green (California) and Leonard Brachett (Beaumont, Texas.);
along with a host of family and friends.
