Mrs. Unita Marie Slayton Lewis, 70, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024 in Houston, Texas.

Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Lewis will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 10: 00 a.m. at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel, located at 1395 Gladys Street in Beaumont, Texas 77701. Visitation for Mrs. Lewis will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel. Burial Service to follow at Anthony Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas. Unita Marie Lewis, 70, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Friday May 31, 2024 at St Luke Hospital in Houston, Texas surrounding by her loving family.
Unita was born on August 30, 1953 in Houston, Texas to her mother, Betty Slayton and Father Felton Broaden. Where she lived there until 1973, where she move to Waco, Texas to further her education at the university of Paul Quinn. Where she meet and married her first husband
Walter Summage, where she lived there until 1978. When her and her first husband move to Beaumont, Texas to have their two son's. Then in the Fall of 1987 Unita, first husband and two son's move to Norfolk, Virginia until her first husband passing in 1992. Then she and her son's move back to Beaumont, Texas, where she meet and married her second husband Albert Grimes in 1994 until his passing in 2013. Then she meet and married her third husband John Lewis until her passing. She was devoted mother, wife and teacher.
Unita is survived by her third husband John Lewis, her two son's Johnathan Summage and Fiance Marie Wilson, Eugene Summage and Fiance Donya Azizian of Beaumont, Texas By her three siblings, Ray Slayton of California, Babara Amos and her husband Frank Amos, Gwendolyn Broaden of Houston, Texas as well as several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Slayton; father, Felton Broaden; first husband, Walter Summage; and second husband, Albert Grimes
