Obituary
Wanda Denise Powell, 66, of Beaumont, Texas, gained her Wings to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven on March 21, 2023. She was born on July 17, 1956, to Melvin and Lizzie Terrell.
Wanda, the most loving and devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Norman Powell; Four Children, Roderick D. Terrell (Shontia), Mister Norman T. Powell, Perry D. Terrell, and DeAndrea Powell. She also leaves behind nine Grandchildren – BreAnn, Jacorian, Jairian, Journey, Roderick Jr., Jaydon, Jaycee, Paul, and Elijah, and three Great Grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald (Kim) and Glenn (Carolyn), and one Sister Chandra.
Wanda worked at Whataburger for thirty-eight years, retiring as General Manager. Anyone who ever came into her presence was welcomed with a huge smile, and contagious personality. She knew her customers by name and everyone who worked for her were treated as FAMILY! When Wanda wasn't working, she spent a great amount of time doing the things that she loved the most , cooking and winning at the Casino! One of the things that Wanda enjoyed most was celebrating her Dallas Cowboys!!! Some could say that she was their #1 Fan!!!
Wanda had the personality and natural charisma to make friends and friendly conversation no matter where she was. Wanda was a Woman of simple taste, focused on providing for her family, and always tried to live the best life possible without the stress of the world. She was the BEST at putting the needs of everyone else first.
Wanda was truly a woman of integrity whose impact will forever be felt by her family, friends, and all that loved her dearly. She was Selfless…… and her ability to provide, sacrifice, support, and forgive will forever be the memory that will be embedded in the hearts of all that knew her.
Although Wanda was taken too soon, she was surrounded by people who loved her. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Melvin and Lizzie Terrell: her sister, Linda, and two brothers, Marvin and Darryl.
You will be truly missed, Wanda Denise Powell. Fly High Sweet Angel. Until we meet again, Rest in Heavenly Peace.
